Working with wireless devices has been a new and complicated experience for many users. However, Microsoft has made some changes that will allow many users to work easily with wireless configurations.
Connecting Windows 7 to a network is a fairly easy task, compared to what it was like with Windows XP. In Windows 7 go to the control panel and then select Network and Internet. However, you can also set up your Windows7 Desktop client to act as a wireless network. Here is how.
[a] Download Virtual Server from VirtualRouter. This program will help you setup the VirtualRouter on you Windows 7 based device.
.
[1]Now download the Virtual Server Program and run Setup. Accept the defaults as they are presented to you. (No need to make the operation more difficult, especially when it is easy.)
[2] Select the location where it should be downloaded to. You can change the folder location, but again, accept the defaults. (Keep it simple, Sam.)
[3] Next confirm the installation process; this guarantees that you do want to continue.
[4] The software will be installed as a Virtual Router. Notice that this is a beta version at this time.
[5] Now it is complete.
[6] Now launch the Virtual Router Manager, and you will see this screen:
The device support is dependent on you having a driver installed that is Certified for Windows 7. As part of the requirement for a wireless driver to be “Certified for Windows 7″ it must support the Virtual Wifi and Wireless Hosted Network features of Windows 7.
If you need to make changes to the configuration it is possible:
[9] And you can change the icon
With the installation complete, you have made Windows7 a source for your wireless connection.
If you have questions about the supported devices, you can access the information at this location here.
